HomeJazz
I sing with various jazz/blues combos and have been lucky enough to work with such great musicians as Richard Hughes, Tyrone Bishop, Miles Levin and Roger Innis. I have performed in such venues as The Bartons Arms and Scruffy Duffys on Broad Street and cover many of the standards with surprising songs thrown in for good measure.
Function/Disco
I have sung as part of a high tech duo and a live covers band in venues as varied as Nailcote Hall, to a works do with an audience of 1,000 at Notthingham University to someone's living room. Whatever the gig Rebecca will have her audience dancing, smooching and hopefully trying to do the "dirty dancing" lift.
Choral
As a teenager I loved being part of the City of Birmingham Young Voices with whom I sang solos all over the city and now I am lucky enough to be part of the marvellous close harmony choir Magenta. I also run a choir at Burton Borough School.
Musical Theatre
I have played lead and chorus in many productions, from creating the role of Dr Shaw in "Jellico the Musical" at the Shaw Theatre to playing Luisa in "The Fantasticks" at the Harold Pinter Studio, London. I have sung to "The Lord" (Lloyd Webber) in the chorus of Howard Goodall's "Silas Marner" at the Bullring with City of Birmingham Touring Opera and done much skirt-swirling in the chorus of "West Side Story" at Birmingham's Town Hall. I have also created singing in roles which were originally non-musical. This included singing all my lines as La Madracita in "Camino Real", being the singing Desdemona in a performance art piece called "Deademona" and singing off stage during "Ward 6" at the Lion and Unicorn, London.
